Roman,

You can now use Lightroom Mobile to access your photos on mobile devices, and
Lightroom web (lightroom.adobe.com) to share with others.

Great, but what about those of us who paid $60 for a Revel subscription that is now useless to us as Lightroom users? Quite a rip-off!

Exactly my thoughts as well....... Adobe you must hear the masses and correct this blunder or at least explain the thought process or business model so I can cancel Revel with an informed knowledge!

I'm searching for a new solution. The fact that you continued to allow subscriptions to renew after stripping all the Lightroom functionality is completely dishonest.

You asked what we want? We want the functionality back.

Saying that we now have LR mobile is the most irrelevant response imaginable. They are totally different tools.

Bring back the integration!!!

Smugmug and Flickr integrate well and YOUR OWN PRODUCT does not!!!!

So Adobe Revel is dead? The mobile app no longer can be downloaded and the LR plugin is gone. So we should recreate the published collections we built in Revel somewhere else in Lightroom. I built several smart collections for showing to clients (not sharing) and all that is gone. A heads-up would have been realllllly nice, guys.

You took a professional tool and made it into a consumer tool so that I can clutter up my LR client files with photos of my cat? Huh?

Peter-

Revel is still very much alive. The 2.3.2 installation issue was fixed in 2.3.300.
You can upload your Lightroom photos from you computer using adoberevel.com.

Lr mobile is designed explicitly to work with Lightroom on the desktop to provide access to your images on mobile devices and the web but unlike Revel it is not a backup or archive solution at this point. We welcome any feedback on what customers would like from future versions, including how it might interact with Revel.

This seems like more Adobe arrogance towards their customer base. Thumbs-down on Adobe for pulling the "plug" on lightroom plugins to adoberevel. I just renewed and will ask for a refund.

So--to get photos from LR5 into revel, one must export the photos out of LR into some folder and then browse to that folder using adoberevel.com and then upload the exported photos?

There must be something I do not understand with the procedure Adobe wants us to use.
If I have a link directly between LR and Revel then my changes in LR could be seen in Revel.
Now, that there is no direct link between LR and Adobe and if I drag a photo from my browser to Revel instead then it is just the, (in my case as all my photos are in raw) unprocessed raw-file that shows up in Revel. What does Adobe want me to do with that? Which friend or client would I want to show my unprocessed pictures?
This is strange!!

I am amazed at this action, to remove the lightroom plugin for Revel. The only reason I subscribed to revel was because of the integration with lightroom. Now revel has absolutely no value to me. It has become a clunky and unwieldy device to store photos on no better Dropbox, Flickr orGoogle with all their archaic management interfaces. So you have removed revel as an option for me to create a workflow that is effective. What service does adobe supply that I can use instead ? Take 100 images. Import to lightroom. Edit. Export to an internet site. All with non destructive editing. Show to customers. Success. Lightroom and revel did this. Now it does not.

Hi Greshame,
Have you tried out LrM synching? By signing into your Adobe ID on LR desktop, you can sync a collection to LrWeb and LrMobile. If you take a look at LrWeb (lightroom.adobe.com), you can share a url for that collection, and even specify to only show picks if you want. This should allow you to share a non-destructive gallery of images publicly and get feedback (comments/likes). hope this helps!

We have PAID for REVEL. You want us to BUY something else??? Come on!!

I paid for lightroom 5 already, as I paid for lightroom 1-4. I'm not going to pay another $10 per month for lightroom mobile just to restore some kind of utility to revel.

LR mobile does not do what Revel does. It isn't just $10 a month to restore functionality. It is $10 a month to do something totally different.

Correct me if wrong !
We are forced to use Revel App to open a browser on our computers, log in , drag a copy of our photos ( raw, tiff, pep , JPEG exp.....) and and wait for your web server to take them. So I can view them in Revel ? How does the editing "non destructive editing ", of course from Lightroom .. If I'm right ..... The only possible way to make this work is to export them as JPEG copy's , then drop them into the browser and upload........ this is not worth the trouble

Seems broken to me that there is no Adobe publish service that syncs your Lightroom photos to an Adobe cloud service of some sort. I thought maybe Behance.. but no, you can't publish to a project, only to Work in Progress (which is currently broken anyway). And Revel has been removed so... nada. Seems like a pretty core solution that people need.

Hi Nicolas,
See my comment above. Have you tried out Lightroom Mobile Synching? There is an option to get a public url to a collection through this that you can share. The displayed images are smart previews that can be edited non-destructively using LrMobile and LrDesktop.

Revel is not the same as LR mobile!!! Why have you REMOVED the LR Revel plugin!!!!

Many of us have PAID for Revel. Telling us to buy something else is disingenuous at best.

I paid 60$ for the annual renew. Now the desktop application is broken (can synchronize anymore). I can't upload photos from my LR application nor anybody from the customer service answers me back. IT?S A FRAUD! Really annoyed by adobe.

Hi Fabio,

Sorry you are having so many issues. Let me see if I can help and if I can't I'll send someone over who can.

It sounds like you are trying to sync from the LR desktop but can't is that right? Or am I misunderstanding you?
Can you sync from Revel directly, not through the LR plugin, ie, from Revel on a mobile device?

Thanks!
Glenyse

To make this as simple as possible, let's say we've taken pictures that we want to share with family. By share, I mean allow family members to download full resolution copies. (Not share meaning they can see them on facebook.)

When Revel worked with LR I could easily do this. They could download the ones they wanted - though the ability to download ALL of them would have been a much appreciated improvement. Revel was far from perfect. But it worked.

Also as an archiving solution, Revel was another place my pictures lived if something went terribly wrong with my other backups. If I made changes to photos in LR, those changes could be pushed to Revel - updating my backups. Ditto for those pictures shared with family/friends.

Given these two uses for Revel (the only two I care about), I find it completely maddening that LR mobile is continually suggested.

First, if you are going to constantly tell people to use LR mobile, why are you still collecting money for Revel?

Second, LR mobile does NOTHING that I use Revel for. Sharing photos a few at a time via email or social media . . . ? Um, no. That isn't what we are looking for.

Third, I've PAID for Revel.

Fourth, how hard can it be to RESTORE functionality that used to exist. Why have you stripped Revel???

I KNOW Revel can be used independently. BUT IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO and any potential elegance of using both programs is lost when your LR edits don't sync to Revel.

Can an Adobe representative PLEASE acknowledge the legitimate concerns we have here??

The publicity about Revel makes it sound like an easy method to store photos in a Cloud environment and it sounded like an easy and streamlined method of sharing of photos with family and friends.

After downloading the app across on my devices, editing my recent holiday photos in Lightroom 5, I went to publish them and... lo and behold.... nothing.

I cannot in any way understand why Adobe would remove its OWN PRODUCT from the list of publish services. This makes no sense.

Reading the comments and replies above I do not think Adobe has given any coherent answer to these concerns. It is not an answer to direct us to LR mobile. What then is the purpose of Revel?

Please Adobe, give us a real and coherent answer. Listen to your customers and restore this functionality.

I'd just like to add that I have spent a couple of hours editing my photos in Lightroom so they look their best.

I uploaded them to Revel via the browser, but of course none of the Lightroom adjustments are there. So again I say what is the point of having a great organising and editing program like Lightroom if it can't interface with the same company's sharing and storage program???

Lets vote with our wallets.......
Turn off auto renewal for your Revel subscription.
Find and replace your image upload software with another
integrated Lightroom plug in!

Adobe I love you but enough is enough.....

I've turned off auto-renewal and am using SmugMug for now. I'd love to stick with Adobe, but I can't when they destroy their own product. I'm pretty frustrated to have lost the months of Revel I've already paid for though.
