Photoshop 2020: Opening multiple images as layers from lightroom classic crashes photoshop

Reproduce:
- Lightroom Classic, select 3 images
- Right click > EDIT IN > Open as Layers in Photoshop
- Photoshop opens and loads first image, at second image it crashes (app closes).

Can someone reproduce this to verify its not a problem only on my computer?

I have similar problem but the difference is that my app will not crash. It just doesn ́t open the files as a layers. It start to open the very first image but stops at half o it.

The only thing i can do is to press ESC.
I found that if i open all of my files from LR separately, than i can also open them as layers too without a problem. However this workaround is very time consuming :(

I think that this misbehavior started after last W10 1909 upgrade :(

I've encountered to same problem on the latest Win10 Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC versions. Did you find a way to fix it?

So, after around 5 hours with the Adobe tech support guys, one of them finally figured it out that it was my graphics card. I had two cards and after disabling the less powerful one, forcing Photoshop to use the more powerful one, it finally worked.

I'm running a Mac desktop and a Macbook Pro, both have the same operating system (10.13.6) and the same versions of Photoshop (21.0.3), Lightroom (9.1) and Camera Raw (12.1).

The last time I used the "open as layers in Photoshop" feature was about 2 weeks ago.  It worked fine.  Now, it does NOT work on the desktop, but it DOES work on the laptop.

Sure would like to find a solution.

BTW, Lightroom's "Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop" doesn't work on the desktop, but does on the laptop as well.

Run Onyx to rule out a corrupt cache or application state, instructions below (I was a Mac IT pro for 25 years).

Download the free Onyx (https://www.titanium-software.fr/en/onyx.html), select the Onyx version for your OS, download, run it, reboot.

In Onyx run almost everything in the Maintenance tab, deselecting things you may not want deleted, like Launch Services . Hit the "Options" button across from Internet and deselect more stuff like Cookies & Other Site Data, Browser History, Form Values, etc. (most of these are OFF by default). If you don’t know what something is, google it, or don’t run it, or ask me), then hit Run Tasks. After it's done it will ask for a reboot.

Also try to fix any directory damage by running Disk First Aid from Disk Utility: boot into Recovery Mode, (hold down Command-R when booting). When you're in Recovery Mode go to the Utilities menu and launch Disk Utility, say Repair Disk. When done go to Apple Menu for Startup disk and restart normally. Better?
