My RAM tests fine.

Where are you exporting to?

I am exporting to a SATA disk (internal)

I have seen many posts about this problem

It seems to me that LR overheats the CPU which then reboots

This is almost certainly a hardware issues. Modern operating systems generally will not let a user app force a reboot or crash the entire system. If it isn't memory, then it is something else, like CPU or some other part that is getting stressed and behaving badly.

Listen !

It is NOT LR that is "forcing" the reboot!

The CPU overheats causing it to reboot.

This PC works flawlessly with every other programs, games or whatever I am using.

This ONLY happens when I export a large number of files from LR.

And since I have read at least 10 or 15 posts regarding the same issue, we can safely assume that this is caused by LR

Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh in the above reply...

But the sentence : "Modern operating systems generally will not let a user app force a reboot or crash the entire system" got me wound up a bit.

I've read that reply before about this issue and it is utter nonsense.

If the CPU overheats for some reason, it wil just reboot no matter what the operating system thinks about that. And software can overheat the CPU quite easily. It could be the way LR utilizes the CPU that causes it to overheat.

I had to abort my wedding export yesterday beause of this and I know that I am going to spend 2 or three hours tonight getting these images exported to the customer. The PC will reboot 6-8 times during this export and each time I will have too find the last succesfull export and start i t over from there, giving the images a new name, so it doesn't f.... up the sequence.

aaarghh !! Hope for an update SOON !!

We're doing some investigation -- What export settings are you using?

Also, have you updated to LR 4.2? --

Curious if this affects the overheating at all.

I am running 4.1

When I check for updates from inside LR it says that its up to date....

I will try and update it.

I also haven't tried to replace the RAM, so I plan to go and buy some new RAM and see if this could solve it. Someone wrote in a reply that software-testing RAM isn't reliable, so maybe this IS a case of faulty RAM after all, allthough I don't get any errors when I test it with software.

Thank you for replies!
