Lightroom/Camera Raw: Lens profile for Sigma DG ART 50 mm 1.4 Canon

I can’t find a Lightroom lens profile for this lens. It is not listed but how can I either make one now that the Adobe creator is no longer available or would there be anywhere else to get one

These are the only Signs lenses listed. Is yours an ART lens ? I have a 12-24  non art which is listed and is OK

OP may be looking at a JPG instead of a raw. The Profile is file-specific.

Those are the lens profiles available for non-raw files (JPEG, TIFF). Select a CR2 raw file and you will see three different model Sigma DG HSM 50 mm 1.4 lenses listed.

Hi Thanks I have now tried raw and it's there as you mentioned. It's interesting that profiles for canon lenses are available for jpeg files. What's the reason behind this? I mainly use jpeg

For JPEGs most current Canon cameras have the ability to correct distortion, vignetting, and in some also chromatic aberration. Not sure this is applied when using non-Canon lenses such as the mentioned Sigma lens.

When shooting with Canon lenses the LR JPEG profiles allow you to turn off those corrections in-camera and then choose the 'Amount' of Distortion and Vignetting correction desired. I generally apply Amount 0 Distortion and 50-75 Vignetting. There's lots' of reasons to NOT fully correct these aberrations. Example: https://forums.adobe.com/message/5655995#5655995

My EOS R does indeed have Lens Aberration correction and my lens is recognised. I have peripheral illumination& Distortion correction on but digital lens optimiser says cannot correct-no data As you probably can tell I am new to all this !

The Canon EOS R uses "built-in" lens profiles. It's possible the lens and perhaps camera need a firmware update.
