Lightroom update for Nikon Z6 & Z7

Now that the Nikon Z7 is on sale and the Z6 soon to be on sale, why isn't Lightroom Classic CC not able to cope with RAW images from these cameras ?  When can we expect an update to Lightroom ?  Very soon I hope

They will but the fault and the reason you’ll wait is totally due to Nikon (and others) that demand the creation of proprietary raw files.

Surely it is in everyones interest to ensure collaboration at the earliest opportunity.

As a matter of interest are the Z6 & Z7 RAW files different and unique to the RAW files from other Nikon cameras such as the D850, D750, etc ?

Yes it is, the issue again are the camera manufacturers! Yes, they could produce a standardized raw (like the JPEG you get) and they don't, they could provide a beta to Adobe and others long before release and they don't. This is the case with every 3rd party raw manufacturer. Adobe gets the new proprietary raw late, very late. They have to hack into it to find the TINY differences, update their products (ACR, LR, DNG converter), then they have to internally test it, then externally (beta), update their doc's, update their web site. YOU get to wait. Now you know who's at fault.
