The tethering D800/D4 Support is for Win7 , but can also be run on a Mac.... Is that what you are saying?

I'm saying that the notes for the release candidate are incomplete at best. LR 4.2 now supports tethering for the D800 for Mac. I have only tested the D800 on the Mac platform.

So ... tethering has been added for the D4/D800 on only one platform ... in an RC version of Lightroom ... now this thread/feature request warrants an "Implemented" label?

I don't get it ... It's sort of like Bush's "Mission Accomplished" banner for Iraq ... and look at how much flack he received for that ...

I would think the term "implemented" would mean the feature is available and fully functional for ALL users ... not added to the growing list of caveats that is the supported cameras for tethering in Lightroom ...

Butch, I set it to implemented. It should be working on both Mac and Windows. Are you saying it's not working on Windows?

According to the announcement of Lr4.2RC on the Lightroom Journal Blog ... it states "Tether support not working for Nikon D4, D800 , and D800E (win only)"

I don't use Windows myself, so I can't test it. If I assumed wrong, I stand corrected ...

It's fine, the release notes were - erm - a bit buggy!

Support was added for both platforms, and then the Windows wasn't working for a bit - hence a bug was written up and then listed in the release notes as a fixed bug.

Why is there still no tethering available in Lightroom 4 for my D4 and D800 - serious hindrance.

Judith....as indicated in the responses just preceding yours, support has been added in LR4.2RC. I don't believe prior versions of LR4 will ever support tethering of those cameras.

What version of LR4 are you using?

Judith and Jim have clearly not taken the time to read comments above. Both cameras are now supported on both platforms. Follow this link:

And Andrew has clearly not taken the time to carefully read my comment -- in which I very clearly state "support has been added in LR4.2RC".

Andrew ... and you clearly did not read Jim's comment ... he agrees with you by pointing out that the support is in v4.2RC ... not any prior version of Lr 4 ... also keep in mind that the existence of the Lr 4.2RC does not show up in the "Check for Updates" under the Help menu ... as it is distributed by Adobe Labs ...

We also must keep in mind that not all users feel comfortable using Release Candidate versions of apps for real world workflow ... not everyone wants to be a beta tester while on the job just to invoke a specific feature like tethering ...

I have Lightroom 3 and I will update to LR4 but I need to know if Adobe have plans to support tethered capture with the new NIkon D800?

Tethered support for Nikon D800 in Windows 7 still not working. Lightroom sees the camera but won't allow it to shoot and display.
