Lightroom: Support cataloging PNG files in Lightroom

Lightroom should support png and psd files - Adobe's own file type creations - I find this inexcusable. Many of us serious photographers that have lived through all the permutations and advancement of Photoshop with tens of thousands of files only to find that they are not supported by the latest otherwise beautiful Catalog program: Lightshop

+1 for the PNG support. Because it's used in iPhone screen captures AND is a powerful format with a lot of possibilities.

Wonder why Adobe argued against this for such a long time. Trying to avoid the obvious? Thanks it will finally arrive with Lightroom 5. Only took 7 years.

I think we should all give Adobe a big "virtual" hug for the png support (regardless of how long it took...). - thank you Adobe.

Yes, thank you to Adobe for listening to us and a nice pat on the back to all who participated to this feature request and contributed their arguments.

Ditto. (And I'm truly glad that fewer people will feel a need for my plugin!)

Good. Now all we need to do is give Adobe our money for another upgrade. Because it *would* be the day when Adobe makes a "major" update free to existing users.

Anyway, good to know Adobe FINALLY managed to listen to their users. I hope they continue to do this and other requested features take less lengthy discussions and billions of pros versus cons to make them realize the bleeding obvious.

Thanks not-Adobe :)

Now how about GIF?

They can animate, which Lightroom technically supports in the form of video...
