Lightroom: Sort by capture time doesn't always work on 2015.7 / 6.7

Sort by Capture Time - normally, if I edit the metadata date/time of an image, it will then jump to the correct slot in the timeline. It would appear that in 6.7 this is broken. It's stopped working. I can edit the capture time, but then I have to force the sort - by choosing a different sort method, then going back to Sort by Capture Time.

This should be fixed in the CC2015.8/6.8 Update. Give it a try and let us know.

Ah, that explains the confusion I experienced the other day. The bug happens to me too (LR CC 2015.7 / OS X 10.11.5). Here's a screen recording: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21811200/lr-capture-time-order-bug.2016.09.27.mov

A slightly simpler way to restore the correct order is to click the Sort Direction button twice:

Thanks for pointing this out, Paul.
We could reproduce the issue and we are looking into it.

Thanks,
Sunil

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom: Doesn't sort photos on macOS Sierra.

After updating to macOS Sierra sorting on the Lightroom stopped working if you make changes of the 'sort-by' parameter. For example, change Capture Time and position of the image won't be changed even if you sort the images by Capture Time.

I know you're kidding!! This is part the whole LR capture time and date capture problem I've been complaining about for years that Adobe refuses to acknowledge and the LR Gurus refuse it too. Then I keep hearing it'll be fixed in next update and next update and next update. Now here we are with a whole new platform and it still isn't fixed. I for one would like to know what is going on. This is a big enough issue that I will not be renewing my subscription if isn't fix by renewal time. I know Adobe doesn't care about my small money after all I'm just one user, so why care.
