Lightroom: Slideshow play does not work (LR 3.6)
System details: Pentium 4 HT, 4GB RAM, Win XP....meets all requirements listed for Lightroom 3.
Slideshow play / preview displays blank page, sometimes even crashes my system. Tried different templates, still no luck. Here's what I did to create a Slideshow:
Slideshow module - created Slideshow collection set - create new Slideshow - set as target collection - library module - selected photos, around 12 - added to Slideshow collection by using shortcut key B - double click Slideshow collection - now in Slideshow module - click play
No options changed in right panel, why is the Slideshow not working? Slideshow has never worked for me since I bought the software.

I would not have updated if I had knew this would be an issue. I would have lived without slideshow feature working in LR3, having to frequently shutdown my machine will severely hurt my productivity. Do you have a suggestion on how to fix this issue now?
It's a pity that instead of addressing issues with the application, consumers have to update their drivers to get it working. I have at least 3 freeware applications that have slideshow feature and works well for me. May not be apples to apples, but IMHO, based on numbers of problems I read, this is a bug in LR3. I paid big bucks for the software and received was a malfunction of a key feature.

Failing that, installing another video driver may cure your problem.
