Lightroom: Sequence rename of the files we want to keep

I would like lightroom to remember my chosen renaming sequence, without me having to dip in and out of Bridge, just to perform this simple task. I don't have the need for import rename, to then delete some files.

I only want to be able to rename the files I'm keeping and for lightroom to rembember my last number saved.

cheers

Select the desired photos and do Library > Rename Photos. Then edit the File Naming template to use the Sequence # token:

Thank you John, I shall give that a go when I get home. Again thank you

This does not work as Lightroom resets the sequence to 1 after every rename. It needs to remember the last sequence number until it's reset by the user. It needs to work like in Bridge.

I second this, this is an absolute NEED. Lightroom needs to keep the sequence number going until it's reset by the user.

Agreed!   I want my photos to use the same filename structure as photos I add through Lightroom Classic's Import Dialog.  I can use Library...Rename... to accomplish this rename, but it fails to implement the "Image#" template correctly.  In Library...Rename... the "Image#" behaves like "Sequence#", which IMHO is a bug that needs to be fixed.
