Lightroom: Save my navigation position - put focus on the folder just above the now-deleted one instead of starting at the top

I quite often clean up my folder tree in LR and delete some folders. The problem is that LR loses my position and moves focus back to the top of the tree. Quite a pia if you have a large set of folders.

Why can't LR put focus on the folder just above the now-deleted one instead of starting at the top? Windows doesn't do this when you remove a folder from an Explorer window.

The same thing happens when you delete a Collection. Jumps all the way to the top of the left panel, not even just to the top of the Collections panel.

Please can this behaviour be corrected!

This post was made over 4 years ago. I cannot believe it would require a major programming effort, and yet the current behaviour is very very irritating.

Seems perfect for a JDI!

Please get it corrected.
