Lightroom: Report changed metadata to provide a way to display what has changed.

I get this message quite often especially after editing in PS.  I think if I edit in PS from within LR then it should know what to do with the metadata anyway, but in any case it's kind of dumb to report a metadata conflict and not any way to see what the conflict is.

Hi Dbur,

I am not seeing this conflict, the metadata is intact. Could you please attach the screenshot of the message you are seeing. Also I would like to know the Lr version you are working on? and the OS?

Thank you,
Venkatesh

I agree! I don't know which to choose, Import from File or Overwrite. Usually Import from File is correct, but I have to bring the image up in the develop window, click on one of the choices & see if the image changes for the better or worse & that's a pain. Yes, it should know where it was changed last & handle it without creating a confusing tag.

Not sure how bringing it up in the developer helps.  Only metadata is changed but the developer actions that effect image appearance are all in your LR catalog.  Isn't that right?

This has been an issue for all LR versions since at least 4 as far as I can remember.  I am now on current release CC.  WIn10 64b.

If you mouse over the ! it says 'Metadata has conflict'.  If you click on the ! you get the dialog above.
Maybe you could add a button that says 'Show Conflicts'  ???

You are right Dbur, it gets confusing at times, I understand your point. Thank you for bringing this up, we will look into this.
