1. Go to the %AppData%/Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences folder. 2. Open the Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs file. 3. Search for useAutoBahn and change it to false, as follows: useAutoBahn = false 4. Restart Lightroom.
Last possible solution: Uninstall LR. Delete all "Lightroom * Preferences.agprefs" for all versions (since installing LR will use the preferences from a previous version). Reinstall LR.
I don't know of any other possible solutions that have been reported for this problem: Latest GPU driver, manually editing the preferences to disable the GPU, fixing the numbers grouping, uninstall/reinstall.
The crash is mostly likely due to the GPU driver. If you also see the same crash when trying to bring up the System Info dialog in Lightroom,
Sunil's workaround should work. In the meantime, we will make a fix in Lr 6.5/CC2015.5 that will automatically set "useAutoBahn = false" when such crashes appear.
I discovered that, indeed, invoking System Info also causes LR6.4 to crash. I made the change suggested by Sunil, and it seems to have fixed the problem when invoking Preferences; however, System Info still causes a crash. Looking forward to LR6.5. Thanks for your help!!

If it doesn't, see if completely resetting your preferences helps: http://www.lightroomforums.net/showthread.php?25197-Resetting-the-lightroom-preferences-file-updated
