Lightroom: Photos have vanished

Tell us which 'Lightroom' you are using. There are several versions: the new cloud-based Lightroom CC, the older Lightroom now called 'Lightroom Classic CC' and of course previous versions of that one. If you are using Lightroom Classic CC or a previous version, then what may have happened is that you created a new catalog.

Hello Johan, thank you for your reply.  I've been using the new LR CC, but it asked me if I wanted to install the newest update, to which I've just done, and now it won't even let me open anything unless I buy the software or start the free trial.  I guess it's been longer than I thought since I used it? my subscription must have expired, but i'm surprised I got no notification from Adobe? normally when it's a case of making money they e-mail the life out of you!!  Never mind, it's back to the drawing board for me I think,  Thank you :)

Is it possible you were using more than one Adobe ID? You may have done all your initial work signed in as a different ID than the ID you just used to log in.  Typically, when photos disappear with Lightroom CC, it is because of a different user ID. I am going to contact you offline to verify which ID you are using.
