Lightroom: No photos in already established albums?

I am an Apple Aperture user. Since they have quit updating and supporting I got a new computer and thought I'd try Lightroom/Photoshop. So far I am not a fan. I should also say that I knew that there would be a learning curve and was looking forward to getting better at photo editing. The editing tools in Lightroom are really good and I know I'm only using the basics so that part is great. I don't like that when I try to retrieve photos I've already loaded into Lightroom that it tells me that there are no photos and would I like to add new photos even though I can see the albums and number of photos listed. I also have been trying to arrange the photos in the order I want them to be. Should be able to drag and drop according to the website but haven't been able to do that either. Was hoping to love this program and I know it can do some amazing things but so far not real happy.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here. Can you give a specific example, perhaps with a screenshot?

This cannot be done in the folders (OS limitation). It can be done in collections only (but not in dynamic collection)
