Lightroom Mobile (iOS): "The photo failed to load" on iOS after sync from Classic

For some of images synced from Lightroom classic CC, I'm unable to edit them in  Lightroom CC iOS app - I get the following error "the photo failed to load" error code A100006 - I cannot pinpoint what is 'different' about these images that give me this error in iOS.

Using Mac OS 10.11.6

Lightroom Classic CC 7.4

iOS 11.4

Lightroom iOS app 3.3.0

Same issue. I sync every day and have never had a problem. Today six photos had the error message and can't sync.

Go to lightroom.adobe.com and see if they are in the Sync Errors folder in the web interface.  What does it show there for their status?

No error messages on the six photos that don't sync. I have re-exported them, created virtual copies of the files, put them in new Collections, etc and still they don't sync.

Do you see a Synced Error Album under the All Photos on the upper left hand side of the web interface?

The Synced Error Album is there but it only contains four old photos. The six that I'm having problems with are in this Album.

Assume you meant to say: "The six that I'm having problems with are in not this Album."

For each of the six images, try putting them in a new album you create called "Failed to Load" Then if they still don't resolve into a thumbnail, go to each in the Edit screen on your web interface and tweak one small edit setting (like Exposure up +.01). Do this for all six images. Does anything change?

I put them in a new album. I can't edit them as it's just a big question mark. I did rate them one star as I could do that. Nothing.

Where did the images come from? Which client, Web, Mobile, or Desktop imported them originally?

12 Messages

The came from my desktop. I have re-exported them, made virtual copies and exported and the same thing every time.

Can you edit them in Lightroom Classic?

12 Messages

Yes. The images are fine in LR Classic on my desktop.

And performing the slight edit on all six of them  in Lightroom Classic does not cause them to sync?

12 Messages

 •

170 Points

No. I can only edit them in my LR Classic desktop. I can't edit them in the mobile.

If you edit them in Lightroom Classic do they then sync properly?

12 Messages

 •

No. I've done everything I can think to them in the desktop - make a virtual copy, put them in a new collection, redit.

Ok. Let's try this.

  • In Lightroom Classic, segregate the 6 images not syncing into a separate collection-called "Failed to Sync from Classic".
  • Then remove them from all syncing collections-including "All Synced Photos" in the library panel.
  • Once they are all removed, restart Lightroom.
  • Wait 10 minutes or so
  • Verify that no images are remaining to be synced
  • Go to the collection created above and set that collection to sync.
  • Wait 30 minutes
Do any of the six sync now?

I did all the you outlined. They are now in a new collection and the seven don't sync there either. I now have a new Collection unrelated to these that has some unsynced photos! This has never happened before the latest update. I use sync everyday. I have 17,829 photos synced in mobile and have never had a problem. This is totally unreliable now! I think its time to leave LR.

Hi, I am having the same issue, the images are ok on my desktop but some won't show on the mobile app, sending the same "image failed to load" message

I am also currently experiencing this issue on my iPad. They all load find on my laptop, but when trying to view them on my tablet only about 50 or so of the 305 photos in my library load properly.

Thanks to all reporting here. We've identified an issue on our side that is causing the problem for a small number of users. The team is working to restore those images to full functionality.

Thank you for your patience.

Same issue. Is this going to get resolved any time soon? It’s been over a year since the original issue was noted.

Gregory,

Lightroom mobile for iOS version 4.4 was released yesterday. Do you still see the issue after installing the update and restarting your device? If so, it would be best for you to start a new thread as your issue is likely not the same as the original issue posted here which was fixed some time ago.

Thanks!

Hello, I’m experiencing the same problem with approximately ~50 of 83 images in a shared album. I’m the only poster and editor of the album. The change to my workflow (and I wonder if it is causal) involves some sorting and editing in the latest Apple desktop version of LR CC *before* attempting additional editing in the iOS app version on an iPad Pro and iPhone. I never had this issue before, but I also worked only within the app version on my devices until now.

For what it’s worth, I can view the images without issue on multiple Apple devices, via the browser and the app. I am on the latest versions of all (iOS and LR apps). I also tried restarting my iPad and my iPhone and signing out/into the LR app on both (the error still shows on both).

Thank you.

Josh, are you still seeing this after installing 4.4.1?

Rikk, thank you.  I believe it has cleared up.  I have another large batch of photos to process over the next few days and will update this thread if it arises there.  Again, thank you!  -Josh

Any ideas ?

Thank you

Please log in at https://lightroom.adobe.com and locate this file in the Web interface. Does it give you any messages there?

Hello Rikk, unfortunately not.
But I kinda solved the issue for me. I deleted the photo on the desktop, and then after a few minutes restored it from the trashbin. After doing this it appeared again like anormalste photo in the catalog on different devices.

I am having the EXACT same error code with the same number appear on my mobile version of Lightroom as well. The edits that I did on my desktop version are  not transferring over and the message "The photo failed to load" is showing up. Please help!

Same here... tried to clear the cache of the album and then checked « store locally ». Same problem. The album contains copies of originals and a handful of them fail to sync with error T20200121. The same photos fail to sync on another iOS device. Can you please help? I cannot believe sync is still broken years after being offered. Even Apple fixed their sync problems in iCloud.

This thread is unrelated to the error you are receiving. This thread is about the error you are currently recieving: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-mobile-error-t20200121-g0in7knm875us

Note that a bug report is already written and this should be resolved in a coming update.
