Lightroom mobile: Ability to create Collection Sets for Photo Workflow Perfection

Lightroom mobile is so amazing, but once I get all of my photos in there, I am going to need to have the ability to organize my Collections into Collection Sets on Lightroom mobile just like I do in Lightroom for Desktop.

Is that feature coming?

Thanks!

This should be a high priority item quite a mess with all the collections otherwise...

I agree, it is really hard to manage the collection list. This should also be a simple fix! Please make this high prio.

I use common collection names in lightroom and syncing these with lightroom mobile is confusing because all the collections have the same name, but different nesting under collection sets with unique names.

It would be great if collection set structures could be synced instead of just collections. So I could have "Birding Trips (collection set) -> Shorebirds (collection set) -> All Birds (collection) / Rare Birds (collection) / Good Shots (collection)". I would like to sync the "Birding Trips" collection set and then be able to see "All birds" within that set.

We need a tool to synchronize the collection sets of lightroom classic to lightroom mobile.

How can I have the name of the Collection Set show up in Lightroom Mobile?
Using collection sets, many of the collections within the set will have the same name -- e.g. Full Shoot or Picks. In LR mobile, it becomes extremely difficult to navigate since each set of images has the same collection name.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom mobile: Syncing and organizing in collection sets.

When syncing collections from LR to LR mobile, these collections end up in one single container (a single "folder") in LR mobile. This happens even when the original collections in LR lives in collection sets. Obviously, this doesn ́t scale well. In time, we will end up with a long list of collections, and we need to do a lot of scrolling to find the collection we want.

The solution to this is to include this hierarchical level in LR mobile, and have LR sync the collection set along with the collection. (I ́m not suggesting that we should be able to sync entire sets, just that this information is synced along when syncing a given collection.)

Please add collection sets to LIGHTROOM MOBILE & LIGHTROOM WEB to organize large image libraries. This one thing would make life a lot easier.
Thanks!

I'd love to be able to have the same structure for collections on mobile as on the computer. I want to have my collections in their folders and be collapsible. Otherwise things are quite hard to manage as I have a LOT of collections and don't know which ones come from which folder.

How can I sync a collection set to Lr mobile

Same here, we need collection sets in LR mobile, cannot understand why these were omitted in the first place, such a simple missing feature and such a high impact.

I fully support this request for collection sets: currently -in Lr on the Mac- I have 222 collections organized in collection sets. I sync my collections to Lr Mobile in order to be able to present my photos via Apple TV on my TV. However, after syncing them to Lr Mobile, it's just one endless flat list, without the structure I built in Lr on the Mac.
So please, sync the collection sets as well to Lr mobile.

I have to agree with all the above comments about the lack of collection set syncing in Lightroom mobile. Having all my collections sync'd in one flat level with no 'sets' structure makes Mobile almost useless for me, as I have hundreds of collection, many with the same name.

I agree - I have 17 years of photos organised by year (collection sets) each containing 10 to 20 collections. So, 17,000 photos in over 200 collections. Viewed in LR mobile it is virtually impossible to navigate through hundreds of collections. Is there some immensely difficult technical hurdle preventing Adobe from implementing this feature?

For me, this would be the easiest way how Adobe could implement the feature: Sync all collections sets which contain at least one synced collection. Make it an option in LR mobile wether to show collections sets or not.

I'd like to see the ability to sync an entire collection set with Lightroom Mobile. Currently I have Collection Sets with the name of the event Fletcher Wedding and inside collections that are Photos, Picks, Selects, Prints. When I sync with LR mobile I just have a lot of sets called Selects. I'd love to see this updated soon!

Yes, the organisation inherent in Sets of Collections, and how we use that ability, should be conveyed to mobile Lightroom. Simply dropping this Set-level organisation makes Lightroom Mobile less useful, and compromises the usefulness of Sets of Collections in the desktop version. Rather than edit individual photographs when I'm away from my desktop, I'm much more likely to spend time on trains, planes and in cafes organising and reorganising my catalog and collections for presentations, galleries, and use with Lightroom Portfolio. Give us Collection Sets; otherwise Collections mean different things on the desktop and mobile versions of Lightroom.
