Lightroom: Menus and Close button missing

I just installed LR3 on a new MacBookPro. LR3 doesn't show the menu row across the top: File, Edit, Library, Photo, Metadata, View, Window, Help. Entire row not visible. Can you help?

Are you in "full screen" mode?
Try pressing "F" to change the mode.

I have no way to close the Lightroom program except launch task manager.

When I open LR 4.1, the buttons that should be in the upper right corner are not showing. I can't move LR from my primary screen to my secondary screen.
