Lightroom: Make desktop icons for CC and Classic more distinct

It would be helpful if you created separate and distinct desktop icons for Lightroom CC and Classic.

The different colors and curved vs. square corners aren't obvious enough?

Apparently not, as I made this request.

I think to make the two names more distinctive, they should remove Classic and simply name them LRCC and LRCCC.
That way, there's sure to be no more confusion!

Just to be sure, William, are you seeing what Victoria mentions - LR CC has a  cyan border  and rounded corners and LR Classic CC has a light blue border and squared corners? If instead both look like LR Classic CC's  then you are referring to Lightroom CC 2015 , which is the old version of Classic CC. These two do have the exact same icons, but you can uninstall LR CC 2015.

Thank your for your thoughtful response.  As they have been pointed out, I now notice the subtle differences.  At a glance all I see is Lr.   Again, distinct differences would be helpful.  A different color altogether or maybe different letters.  Thank you.

Thank you Laura, CC2015 is exactly what I was thinking of!

The other thing I should ask is do you need both installed? Adobe's not intending people to use both versions, especially not on the same machine.

(To be clear, you're not trying to convince me, but I'm asking these questions to help you convince Adobe that they need changing.)

I'm new to using Lightroom  and use the classic  version.  I'm not sure I'll use them both yet.  I was interested in seeing how the automatic keyword function worked and there were any other features in the cloud version that may  add any value to my work flow.   I would never use the cloud version for editing.

That said, if Adobe had not intended for them to be used together why do the provide a sync option?

Sync in Classic is legacy, from syncing with LR mobile. It still works for syncing with the LR CC mobile apps, and you can use it to sync to LR CC desktop on another device, but they don't recommend using them both on the same machine beyond a bit of testing, as you're doing.

When Adobe first introduced the confusing rebranding, the Adobe person who maintains the forums put the wrong icons on the forum banners.  They are certainly visually distinguishable, but it's far from perspicuous which one is which.
