Lightroom: LR4 bug: Cntrl Z does NOT revert back 1 step

After applying a preset, I then click Cntrl Z (Win 7) and the image takes on some random look (it looks as though another preset I have not defined has been added without my instruction). The only way to step back to a previous (workable) state is by clicking the 'Reset' button.

So just to be clear - on an image I have just started editing (so no changes yet) I have added a preset - didn't like the result - so pressed Cntrl Z to go back to where I started. Instead I get some random looking changes I have not asked for. The only way to go back is by clicking Reset.

I have recreated this on my Mac and my PC.

Another fabulous workflow addition from LR4.

I cannot reproduce this (Win7, LR4 64 Bit). Undo always works correcly after applying a preset.

Which settings are included in the preset that you have used?

Oh well if you can't reproduce it then it must be my fault. SIlly me.

Doesn't mean it's your fault, but it means it is a problem confined to some special circumstances, data constellation, system, .... and therefore is a little harder to diagnose.

Have you tried creating a new catalog and checked if you can reproduce it in the fresh catalog? Does it only happen whan applying presets, or also with manual adjustments? Does it happen with all of your presets or just some (or one) of them?

Wow.

Richard, don't take your frustration out on me... as you can see from my other posts here, I am always "eager" to find and understand bugs. In no way I meant to say that it is your fault.

I too strongly suspect that your problem is tied to something specific, e.g. a certain setting that is included (or is not included??) in the preset that you used. I asked you which settings are in your preset, so I get a chance to reproduce it. Since your only answer was some snippy remark, I won't get that chance for now.

But I don't give up that easely - so please provide the info I asked for. Believe me, I *want* to reproduce this bug because I think such a but could potentially be a very severe one.

I have created a new catalogue and the problem is now gone.

Cheers

I spoke too soon, the problem recurrs after about 40 minutes using LR4.

Interestingly, the old problem I had with V3 - the mouse buttons not working after 40 minutes - has now vanished... only to be replaced with this new, slightly more irritating glitch.
