Lightroom: Import error on disk space, but images are delete and not imported

If the Source disk/drive was a memory card in a card reader LR should not offer the option to Move the files during import. That option should be grayed out. If LR deleted the images and you can't find them in the trash or someplace else on your drives by doing a search with SpotLight or some other file search program like Find then I am sorry to say they are gone.

I suggest in the future you stop using the Move option in favor of the Copy option.

Until you're able to figure out if your images were successfully copied to the NAS or not. DO NOT touch the external drive you were attempting to move them from. Especially, don't write anything to it. You may (depending on your O/S) be able to obtain some un-delete software to recover the images.

Agree with JSM. In the future, never use Move, use Copy and after you verify they all were transferred to the new location then delete them from the source. This  isn't just good practice for LR but for any program or O/S. The only exception is if you're moving files from one location to another on the same device. In that case the O/S really never moves the files. It only updates the file table to make it look like the files have been moved. Like when you drag a folder or pictures in LR to a new folder.

Tip for everyone as stated above  don't use the  move command but do first an import and them delete the files (when the import was successful). If something goes during  import with the copy option it looks like files are first copied and then imported in LF. Hope this will help people in the future.

Thanks all for the support, and the best news my images are indeed copied to my NAS but not imported in LF.

Lesson learned: NEVER USE THE MOVE OPTIONS DURING IMPORT TO LF. (it will save you some grey hairs :) )
