Lightroom: How do I delete a photo in CC and NOT delete them in Classic
I've been using LR for years. And love it.
Now LR CC is evolving towards cloud/Sync editing... and well, it's not always the most welcome change.
I sure;y enjoy the Mobile version but would like to keep my Desktop work safe and sound.
I've been importing raw's on a iPad and worked a few of them. To start, to see what would be possible. Now back in my studio, I wanna go on working on the Desktop, and this in LR Classic, as LR CC (why by the way did Adobe named the Mobile/new/synced/liught verison after the one we knew and were used to./... to make us all confused..?? I can\t think of any other reason, sorry)
Anyway, my quesiotn is simple: I wanna import the raws I started working on iPad/LRCCon my Desktop LR cClassic but this in a specific Cataloog, not in all of them,...
Then, I'd like to delete the raws on the iPad and NOT have them deleted at the same time on LR Classic on my Desktop, which it atually says it will....
Man.. Adobe... May I suggest you could have called the mobile version just LR mobile and give us more controls over the way things get synced, instead of assuming we all want to have ALL our photos on the cloud, and on ALL our devices........ Maybe it's me who miss things.. but please explain then.
By the way, in former LR CC now LR Classic, we did have the possibility to sync.. so why to change a system that works for the best...? Please guys, don't soon drop the Desktop version and keep a light one that will goes everywhere, syncing everything on every devices.. Lightroom is not itumes or iPhotos... ! Please, consider.
Many thanks.

You need to re-read the message (though it is very densely worded!). When you use Lr iOS to delete an original stored in the cloud, the message says it will be deleted from all cloud-dependent apps (LrAndroid, the new LRCC) but not from Classic. But before you delete them, make sure the raws are in Classic - if you delete files before they have synced down into Classic, it's goodbye.
Alternatively, in Classic go to All Synced Photos (Catalog panel) and remove the photos from there. - ie unsyncing them. Unsyncing the photos will remove the originals, just as if you did the deletion on the iPad. And it's probably safer too.

I indeed just got the concept of 'Only One Catalog" synced. OK... but on iPad, I can't choos e which collections I wanna sync, so now, I get ALL the photos present in LRCC on iPad synced into my Desktop Catalog... It's VERY very dumb, sorry to say. It's like Adobe thinks we work on one series of images at the times.....? Or is there another way...?
And by the way, the mnessage says it will be deleted on:
"- Your Lightroom Photos" (ok, Adobe, since you were so good at naming the new app, what Lightroom does this mean? Both?
"ALL synced devices.." (not only on LRCC versions/devices thus..?)
"ALL albums and shared galleries".. (That doesn't sound good to me all these "ALL"..)
Well, Adobe if you read this, please come soon back to your senses. The Mobile/Syncing idea CAN be great but it's now a quite downer! Creating complexity instead of ability... :-(

Yet, it's not really what I meant. I saw the setting in the sync pref about the location for storing the originals... though that'd mean we have to change it everytime we change catalogs... it's a mess. But i'll get it working.
The MAIN problem now for me is that we can't choose on the iPad which collections is to be synced. As it's per default a device that syncs. (yes I know we can pause the syncing), but of course, the point is to be able to retrieve the sketch-work/adjustments we do on iPad to go on working with them on Desktop. And for this you need to sync them all. Then Import them all into Classic on Desktop, to what, enjoy a few that you worked out a bit on iPad... What a waste of internet band...! Not mentioning you'd need to move the originals belonging to another series/catalog manually after that and re-import manually into the correct catalog... pfiuuu...
I really hope Adobe gets this sorted it COULD be great. It's not yet.
