Lightroom: Crop Tool Suggestion - percent of original size

Hi, I would like to share and idea for the crop tool in Lightroom.
I would like to be able to type in a certain percentage of the original image size, and/or original pixel resolution. Lets say I would like my image to be cropped to 50% of the original size, I would type in "50%" or say from 6000 pixels to 3000 pixels.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration

Benjamin

Can you explain why you want this Benjamin? The general workflow for LR is to crop visually to what you want and then define the pixel size during export.

Yes, a very good point...I thought of this myself. However, I really don't like cropping my images more than 50% for print reasons, and it would be nice to have that reference there. I have the option to shoot in DX crop mode with my cameras, but sometimes I find that fast moving wildlife will sometime get out of my view, so I choose to do the cropping after-the-fact.

Just thought it might be a nice feature to have once in a while :)

You can include the crop dimensions in pixels in the info display. Use Ctrl J to open the view options and select cropped dimensions.
