Lightroom Classic: Z6 2 Vignette

Got the Nikon Z6 II.  In Lightroom Classic (desktop) 10.2 all images with lots of sky (bird in flight) appear as a medium to high vignette.  LRC accepts the NEF OK, but I suspect it does not have a camera profile for the Z6-2.  Using the Nikon 28-300mm FX lens with Lens Correction on (or off) has vignette.  A Sigma 150-600 lens with Lens Correction looks good.  Both use the FTZ adapter.  If I apply Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG Aspherical HSM to the Nikon 28-300 it looks pretty good.  Maybe over compensating a little, but lots better than original.

Both the Sigma 150-600 and the Nikon 28-300 look normal, no vignette, on a D500.  I have many DX and FX lenses, all look good on the D500.  Out of the half a dozen that I have tested, all have vignette on the FTZ/Z6-2.  This indicates to me that it is not a lens/Lens Correction issue, but a camera profile issue.  Is there an update with camera profiles due to come out?

Thanks,

George

The vignette corrections are tuned based on the camera setting for how strong of a correction was set in the camera. IIRC, If you can supply some test images (preferably NEF+JPEG), we can review the camera settings.

Rikk,  uploaded 3 pix, NEF, XMP, Jpg to onedrive:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvUX6lOYSxvrji_GZXqHIa4XyIgH?e=ddZ1VI

direct export from LR.  When they were imported, applied "Auto Lens", "Clarity =25", and "Sharpen 25".   Lens shows up as VR 28-300 f3.5-5.6G, is a Nikon model 2191.

Note that if you search Adobe site for supported cameras, in the Nikon section near the bottom, Z6-2 shows NEF supported, but camera Profile not at 10.2

Let me know if you need anything else.  I will delete the files in a week or so, as they are junk files (OOF, no bird, etc)

Thanks, George

If have this same lens combo but with a Z7 II and I thought it was something I was doing.  Glad to see they are looking at this.  Hope my "follow" will keep me updated if you hear back.  I probably should mention that I use Lightroom cloudy version not classic

New in Z6-2 and Z7-2.... Under Shooting Menu, TURN ON Vignette Control to Normal (at least not OFF).  This allows camera JPEG and Adobe Lightroom to compensate vignette.  With camera Vignette Control OFF, in Lightroom under Develop module/Lens Corrections the control for Vignette will be grayed out, and no compensation for lens vignette.  There is no control for vignette on the D500.

Check out Thom Hogan's book on Z6-2/Z7-2 page 592.  Very helpful book, 1100 pages of info. ($29.99)  Think it is well worth the price.
