Lightroom Classic: Won't allow import from 2 different cards while open without closing and restarting
I have current version of Lightroom Classic CC on 2 windows 10 computers, one desktop and one laptop. Both are recent models with lots of CPU power, i7s. Desktop has 64GB RAM and laptop 16Gb RAM.
The problem arises on Import. If I eject the card and try to import again during the same session with another card or even the same card with another session later, the import dialog becomes unresponsive and I need to force close the dialog box and restart Lightroom.
Initially I was blaming the PC because I thought that it was Windows but recently I was able to repeat the problem with both PCs. The same issue arose if I tried to Import from 2 different cards, whether I used the same camera or a different one.
This is repeatable.
Regards
Ed

I tested with Win 10 Build 1803 on a Dell Laptop with a Lexar USB 3 reader. I was able to do 3 consecutive imports from the same card and 3 consecutive imports from 3 different cards. I had Lightroom eject the card after import on each occurance. I was unable to reproduce what you are seeing.
Normally I would finger a bad preference file as the root cause but you are having it occur on two distinct machines - making it less likely.
In any case it is a pretty quick test to perform:
A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.
Reset Procedure:
1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.
Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?
