It is stated that LrC is suited to use with desktop computers. Would this apply to laptops also?

Yes. As long as it is reasonably powerful you’ll be fine.

Yes, desktops and laptops run the same OS, so as long as you have enough RAM memory to run LrC (32/64GB), you'll be fine.

I have a 10-year old laptop with an i7 processor running Windows 10, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. LrC runs fine with that, not as fast as a highly spec'ed desktop, but it is quite adequate for my use.
