Why is there no compatibility?
Why are there camera hardware limitations?
Why is the Olympus SDK code not given to Adobe?
What specific limitations are you referring to? Lightroom does support Olympus raw files. Perhaps you're referring to tethering?

No tienen acuerdo comercial ?
The direct capture system is capped and its anchor with Olympus is not updated, the SDK code should be open to make this function more compatible with Lightroom Classic that cannot be done, except for Olympus Capture programs and hot folders, it is not a flow work and often gives errors Olympus the black sheep that nobody wants, Adobe does not like Olympus, it has us marginalized, what happens has something against it? Do not have a commercial agreement? I have been using adobe for many years, and if they do not change to make Olympus more compatible and make a workflow. I will unsubscribe from Adobe, because apart from being expensive, they don't give me what I need for my work. There are free programs that are better than adobe. Adobe is brand only
When you connect your camera Olympus to Lightroom Classic:
My camera Olympus OM-D 5 Mark II is on. It doesn´t work in Lightroom Classic, capture on camera direct, imposible work live view
@Nacidolibrefoto Yes, that is correct, Adobe only advertises tethering for specific Canon and Nikon cameras. Fuji and Leica distribute their own Lightroom tethering plug-ins. Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and other manufacturers do not offer a tethering plug-in.
What is the timeline to provide live tethering for Nikin D5100?

I am waiting, waiting, waiting for tethering to work with CanonR5 as this is a key process in my business. Any work around? Or is the only solution to switch to another software?
While waiting, maybe have a look at the OpenSource DigiCamControl. Tethering with the M5 seems to be supported there!
@Rick 2 months later and we're still waiting. Please update us as soon as possible on when this will be fixed.

Hi,I am working with Nikon camera's. I shoot tethered within Lightroom. Why is the liveview option (during tethering) not available for Nikon camera's like it is for Canon's?
I am waiting for years for this option like lots of Nikon shooters. Can you tell me when this will be solved?I had contact with your support team during spring 2020 and they told me at the time, it would be a part of the update from July 2020....
December now and I am still wondering.
Good question - It is my understanding Capture One has had this feature available for many Nikon cameras for some time. I'm interested to know what the hold up is for Adobe to make this feature available.
That's why Adobe doesn't share release dates in advance of features being ready... it either had to be pushed back, or the support tech was making stuff up.
Live View was added for some Canon cameras in the October release, and support is expected to be added for Nikon too, but Adobe hasn't said exactly when.
Just found a software alternative, it will allow you to install a plug-in into Lightroom or just use it as a standalone. I've just tested the 30 trial and it does look pretty good. Its simplicity sits nicely between Capture One and Lightroom. I do really like the rotate feature for portraits on Liveview.https://tethertools.com/product/smart-shooter-4/#specs
Oh thank you! I am going to check this but still it would be much easier to be able to do everything (tethering and liveview) in 1 program, as in Lightroom.Do you know the cost of this program after the trail?
Hi, you need Cable Camera to USB special conection.
You can see in my tutorials in youtube in my channel
The coast is only the cable olympus , 15€
Hi Nacido, I have the cable for Nikon indeed but the Nikon Z6II is not yet released for tethering.
With the capture program from the Nikon Z6II, you could configure the capture and from the program make Lightroom see the capture you take live
What doe you mean " with the capture program from the Nikon Z6II" ? Which program are you talking about?
Nikon Capture or
Camera Control Pro 2You can create one foulder how capture principal and the lightroom classic, and hot foulder sync the capture. You can use Capture One 21 to tethered free 30 days
So you need another program, Capture One 21, to make Lightroom work for tether. Do you work for Capture One?
I use all programs
I use Capture One 21 and Lightroom Classic and Photoshop

From Olympus Capture to Lightroom
Now i have other camera to my jobs Fuji X T3
Hey!Can I work in live view with Nikon Z6 or Z6 II in Lightroom Classic (I have upgraded to a new macbook pro this week) So I have MacOs Big sur, version 11.1 So not only get the picture on the computer when you take pictures but see the object on the computer and take pictures from the computer etc.
Live view is only supported on a few Canon cameras so far, but Nikon support is expected in due course.
@Calle Lindgren I cannot get LR (any version, even prerelease) to tether with my Z6 II
The Nikon Z6II is not released yet for tethering
Tethered from Olympus to Ligthroom Classic solved, in my channel
Training from Olympus
My only solution for tethering to a Z6 II is to use Nikon Capture control to tether and then use "watched folder" to bring the files into Lightroom
Hi, would you be able to update the tethering software for Adobe Lightroom to allow the new Nikon Z6II to be tethered?
I have just purchased the Nikon Z6II expecting this to be a given, I was shocked to realise that Adobe have not managed to support this.
This is my error for not checking this, but in my opinion should be something that Adobe really should be prepared for, especially when it's such a groundbreaking launch of a camera that is in high demand globally. I use the camera 95% of the time in the studio tethered so my life is going to be very difficult over the next few, weeks, months, years???? Who knows.
I would love to know if this is on the radar of Adobe at all?
@derek I totally agree with you Derek. I assumed this would not take long or would be a problem but it definitively is.
Yes, please @Rick put the pressure on them to get the Eos R series cameras working with a direct tether as well. Thanks!
I would like to request that Nikon cameras be supported for Live View tethering.
