Not a problem

Lightroom Classic: Suddenly I can't import a photo from my samsung phone because it's reported as a duplicate

I find that I can't import a DNG file from my Samsung phone because Lightroom Classic reports it is a duplicate of a photo that is alreadyin the catalog. This applies to photos that I've taken in the last 5 minutes. This appears to be a new problem since the recent update.

Lightroom Classic marks a file as duplicate if the:
  1. Date/Time Capture Matches
  2. File Name Matches
  3. Size on Disk matches
It should be a simple matter to double check your catalog for the filename shown in the Import dialog and verify it isn't there. 

Is it possible you have turned on Auto Add in Lightroom on your phone and then have turned on syncing in Classic?

Thanks, you've nailed it - indirectly! I found the files had been imported via sync, although AutoAdd was not on on my phone, but I do have Lightroom 2.4 installed on my PC. The files were in a folder on my C: drive. My catalog is set up so that my raw files are on a network drive, and I was trying to import them to a folder there.

How is your phone naming images? I suspect it is giving the same name to each image.
