Lightroom Classic: Stalls/freezes on applying label filter

When I try to apply a filter on a color label, litghtroom  (version 7.5) is caught in a loop trying to bring up the grid display. I it constantly brings up the label "Labeled Yellow", removing it, bringing it up again and so on until I kill the process. The latter is kind of difficult because lightroom keeps bringing itself to front.
This problem does not occur every time but I have to restart lightroom constantly when I use filter on color label. I cannot say if other types of filters are affected.

Is there any workaround?

That is odd - I haven't seen that before. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

Thanks for this tips. On the first sight it worked. At least lightroom is now faster. The old color labels are gone but this is a price I'm gladly paying ;-)
I'll keep an eye on that.

They probably aren't gone but rather turned into White Labels. If you go to Metadata>Color Label Set and select the label set that matches your image's labels, the colored labels should reappear.
