Lightroom Classic: Stack / Group in Develop Module via shortcut

Please allow us to 'stack' images in the develop module via shortcut. As stacking is a pretty regular part of my workflow, having to switch to Library or Grid module every time I wish to stack a set of images via command+g is tedious.
Right clicking and selecting "stack" works in the develop module, but for some reason the shortcut doesn't.

This has been bothering me for years!

OK. When using the development module, some commands only apply to the "most selected" image in the grid on the secondary display or in the filmstrip . Ctrl G is one of them. The Ctrl S key also has a different behavior depending in which module you currently are OR on which monitor the grid is currently displayed.

For example, if you select 3 modified images and hit Ctrl S while the grid is displayed on the secondary display, only the metadata of the most select image are saved. Now, if you display the grid on the main monitor (loupe mode on the secondary display), the metadata of all selected images are saved when hitting Ctrl S.

I have always found this behavior totally inconsistent and I reported this for the first time in 2012 for version 4 (although the problem was there long before). The answer has always been : "it's by design". Strange design, indeed.

Yea, I know, it's frustrating. There are some instances where I can see it making sense, or at least having it as an option could be useful, but command+g has no other use in the develop module, so its use is just turned off which seems so unhelpful to me. Hopefully we get some "me-too's" going on here.

Found this discussion when I tried to figure out why I can't use keyboard shortcut to stack and unstack images in the Dev module. CMD-G doesn't seem to do anything in the Dev module, why not enable it? It would be much faster than having to right click, navigate and look for the stack/unstack option or have to switch to Library view to do the stack/unstack then switch back to Dev. module.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LIghtroom Classic: Stacking in Develop Mode.

Hot key support for some stacking operations (ctrl g, shift ctrl g) would be very helpful in Develop mode.

I often start move through my photos initially in the Develop module, where I can both do some quick edits and mark rejected photos. I'd love to be able to group photos (for HDR images) using the same keyboard shortcut available in the Library module. This would help me save a lot of time (over switching modules or having to use the mouse).

Hi,

so I'd like to ask you to make available stacking actions to main menu.

Details:
I have about 1500 photos in a folder (lots of bears, etc.) and I grouped them in app. 50 stacks.

I work in develop module with all the stacks collapsed and work with one stack at a time. Expanding a stack, then flagging and developing photos in that particular stack and then collapse it and proceed to the next one. And the shortcuts would help me in moving between stack a bit quicker.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LIGHTROOM: Stacking shortcut Ctrl-G should be available in Develop Mode.

Why doesn't Ctrl/Cmd-G work in Develop mode? Certainly the Stacking option is still valid there in the filmstrip (and is available from the context menu). It should be available.
