Lightroom Classic: Show full hierarchy in list of collections on images
PROBLEM: When you select “Go to Collection” on an images Right-Click context menu or click the “collections badge” on an image you get a pop up menu that lists the collections in which the image participates. in the list of collections shown one only sees the actual collection names (one group for collections and one for publish services). You do not see the collection set or Publish service names.
REQUEST: In the situation described above, include the full hierarchyof collection sets for each collection name, including the Publish Service name if it's in a Publish service.
EXAMPLE: In the screen shot below, I can see that the image is in a regular collection and 5 Publish Service Collections. What I can't tell, for example, which Publish Services each PS collection name is in. In this case I have a "People" PS Colection in two different Publish Services but I can't tell which they are

Now they are all digitised and I still have all the analogue material. I standardised the physical storage of the negatives, prints, slides, microfilm, etc; and they are now all together in a collection of boxes in the attic. There are 19 large boxes, each of which contains many envelopes (each envelope is one group) and each envelope contains 0 or more prints and 0 or more negatives.
To make it possible to find the physical source of any digital image, I created a LightRoom collection set for each group of photos. A typical Collection Set looks like this:
[Collection Set] Box nn
[Collection Set] Group nnn
[Collection] Negatives
[Collection] Prints
Since all the photos are now digitised, finding that one that I’m looking for is easy. If I want to find, for example, a negative that goes with a particular image, I click on the ‘collections badge’ and pop-up list appears which shows all the collections which contain this image. I scan down the list and I will find ‘Negatives’ among all the others.
And this is the point: It would be very, very, very, helpful if what I saw in the list was:
Attic/Box 13/Group 325/Negatives
This would tell me immediately: “Go to the attic, open Box 13, find envelope 325, the negative you’re looking for is in that envelope.”
This would be a very useful improvement.
Thanks to the originator of the thread.
BTW: I have developed an extensive document management system using the same [Lightroom collection] approach. If anyone's interested in how it works, let me know.

Show full hierarchy in list of collections on images
When you select “Go to Collection”
in an image context menu or click the “in collections badge” a list of
collections pops up. In that list of
collections, include full hierarchy of collection sets
In below can’t tell which Publish Service images are in, only lowest level PS
collection name is shown. Need PS name
and intervening collection set names

Great shout, Dan and thanks for raising this as a feature request. It's been bugging me for too long and thought it was just an obvious one and someone must have raised a request in the past so didn't bother.
Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Show hierarchy in "Go To Collection" pop up.

I think it is a good request and something that I would use as well!
