Lightroom Classic: Question on moving catalog to new computer - folders MISSING! Pls Help!
My old iMac - OS 10.13 High Sierra, running Lightroom classic (older version - not sure which one, though I usually installed the updates as they came in). Harddrive failed, new IMAC running Catalina 10.15.7 with Lightroom Classic v10. All photos are stored on an external drive which was not affected.
I had a Backblaze backup of my hard drive, so I copied the Lightroom folder to new iMac under Pictures.
My catalog from the old computer is named Lightroom Catalog-2-2-2.lrdata.
Lightroom found it, converted it and opened the library - <500 photo of 100K photos are there. The only folders showing are iPad, and 2 iPhone folders, none of the external hard drive photos. Everything that was copied was also in a collection, though not all my collections are there. My settings to export to smug mug, and other services are missing.
Where is everything? The catalog that it opened was 1.63GB, the new v10 .lrcat is 11mb and the previews file is 568MB.
I thought this should open up the same file structure, folders, show metadata, edits. What do I do next?

Sounds like you restored/opened up the wrong thing. The catalog is a file that ends in ".lrcat", so there's probably another file there called "Catalog-2-2-2.lrcat" which is the one you want to open. The "...Sync.lrdata" folder is used to store sync info.

So you used the wrong backup and restore tool and now you are suffering the consequences. After you get your system working, get yourself an external hard and use Time Machine.
Backblaze has its uses but not for Lightroom or migrating to a new Mac.
Apple supplies you with the best tool for backing up, restoring, and migrating your system. Don't use it and suffer the consequences.
Sorry but sometimes reality is painful.
