Lightroom Classic: Print Module does not retain ICC profile selection in Color Management area

The ICC profile selected in the Color Management area of the Print Module is supposed to be persistent. In fact, there are complaints about this feature. I have the opposite problem. My selection is not retained by the Print Module. It is not persistent.

If I leave the Print Module to go to the Library Module, to Exit LR, or to do anything other than stay in Print Module, then when I return to the Print Module, there is no ICC Profile shown in the Color Management area.

All other settings are fine. The printer still thinks that color is being managed by the application. If I attempt to print, I get an error that there is no ICC profile. So, whenever I return to the Print Module, I have to re-select an ICC Profile.

Creating a User Template with the ICC Profile selected does not help. Subsequently selecting the User Profile still doesn't restore the associated ICC Profile.

I am using the latest LR Classic on Windows 10. I do not have the October update. This problem first appeared some time ago. It went away for a while, but now it's back.

Since your problem has not been consistent and we have no other reports, I would recommend the following.

A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences.

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

If you can repeat the behavior after resetting preferences, please try creating a new template and if that fails, a new catalog.

I have the exact same problem. Calle Adobe support and they said that it's "Windows Issue"
I am using Windows 7

I was looking for the missing profiles and found a solution for me:
Select a profile in the template browser (left printing module) with the right mouse button and open the folder with "Show in Explorer". Here you can see more templates. Now we open the selected template with a simple editor with the right mouse button "Open with" and select an editor. Here you can see the settings listed more or less clearly. A little change helped me to fix the problem.

Search for the path of the ICC profile
I searched for "ICC" and found the entry "printingProfile =" C: \\ Windows \\ system32 \\ spool \\ drivers \\ color \\ Innova_Epson-SC-P800_IFA45 (EPL) _PK_1440.icc ","
and changed it to:
printingProfile = "C: \\ WINDOWS \\ system32 \\ spool \\ drivers \\ color \\ Innova_Epson-SC-P800_IFA45 (EPL) _PK_1440.icc", "

Is there a difference? Just a small one, and you'd think this is negligible since Windows 10 is not case sensitive. Yes, only the spelling of "Windows" led to the missing profile. So change "Windows" to "WINDOWS", save the file and after restarting Lightroom the profile is where it always was!

Change the ICC profile in all print jobs
With many templates for printing, this process is of course somewhat time-consuming. I found the solution for this with Notepad ++. This program can search many files at the same time and change individual words contained therein. This can be done with the entire directory "Print Templates" for all files at once. Please save this folder beforehand if something should go wrong. All print templates now work for me!
