Lightroom Classic: One handed flag pick selections

When scrolling through photos, I would like to be able to have the flag pick and flag reject keys on the same side of the keyboard. Although how it is is very intuitive with selecting x or p, being able to use one hand to scroll and the other to select flags would make it quicker to go through them.

Use the auto-up function for the next photo when choosing which photos to keep and which to reject, (press the Caps Lock) to help you quickly sort photos.

Completely forgot about that feature. Yes, that does help. Thank you.

Try the ` key, just to the left of the Z. That toggles flag on and off, and X is right there to reject.

My mac keyboard does not have a ' key to the left of the Z. The only key left of Z is shift. That would have been a nice solution.

On a US Mac keyboard, ` is still on the same side as X, and you can put your third finger on ` and your thumb on X:

(Victoria's on a UK keyboard.)

It's all making sense now. Thank you for the visual. That key was off my radar and I was stuck on the apostrophe key which made no sense at all. Yes, this key and the x work perfectly for my use. Thank you very much for improving my work flow!

And I learned something new too - thanks John! I never considered they'd move those keys around!

Thanks Victoria. That'll work - just need to get used to the single hand "stretch" to reach the two keys

I use the paint function to set ratings but you can also use it for flags.

Another solution is to edit the TranslatedStrings and change the keyboard shortcut for Photo > Set Flag > Flagged from P to A, using this line:

"$$$/AgLibrary/Menu/Photo/SetPick/Flagged/Key=a"

See this article for how to edit TranslatedStrings:
