Lightroom Classic: Negative counts of photos in folders; deletion of photos has no effect
LR 7.3 / Macos 10.13.3 shows negative counts of photos in folders:

The folder "test pics" contains almost all of the 311 photos in the catalog, but it appears twice in the Folders panel, once with -2 photos and once with -5 photos.
When I try to delete from disk or remove any of the photos shown, nothing happens.
Just prior to this, I had exported these photos from a single master photo back into the catalog.

There are two inconsistencies:
1. The Folders panel only shows counts adding up to 5 photos, though the catalog contains 312 photos (almost all in the "test pics" folders).
2. There are two occurrences of the "Desktop/test pics" folder.
