Lightroom Classic: Model release files (PDFs or other) linked to a Collection or individual DNG image files

I'd like to be able to associate Model or Property release files with my image files.I have an IOS app (Photographer's Contract Maker) that creates PDF files for model and property releases that I would like to be able to import into my Catalog and associate with either an entire collection and/or individual DNG image files.

As an interim solution, you could use the Any File plugin to import the PDF files and then stack the PDF files with the associated images.

In other words you want Lightroom to support importing PDF files?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Store Photo releases in lightroom Classic.

Manage Photo releases is very painful for professional photographers, you must have the forms with you,ask the model to sign them. When done, you have to scan and store the signed forms in the right place to be able to retrieve them if necessary. It will be great if we are able to store and retrieve these releases directly in lightroom. And the cream of the crop, would be a mobile companion app to sign, send a copy to the model and store the release.

I assume you are using a phone app already such as Easy Release that produces either a PDF or JPG document of the signed release and that you save those documents on your computer someplace.

Not that it fulfills your request, and you probably already know this, but if you look in LR metadta using the IPTC Extension filter, there is a section called "Models" and another for "Property" where you can paste in the file name of the relevant release document.

But, as you say, it would be more convenient if there were some added automation that could match model releases to images (say by date/time stamp similar to the Auto GPS tagging) and be able to link images directly to release documents.  Of course if LR just put in a link to the release document those would be vulnerable to folder maintenance outside of LR (Release document can't be found).  And if LR saved the actual release jpg or pdf in the catalog there would be catalog size issues along with having to create a "release document" table in the catalog to store them plus a many-to-many type relationship between the image table and the release table to allow one release to be associated with many images and one image to be associated with many releases (group shot).
