Hi Tom,

Is this issue happening with other HDR sets as well? If not, can try out the following steps to help us troubleshoot:
- create an empty catalog
- import the affected HDR set
- try HDR merge with the imported set

Yes, happening very frequently across many sets. Only solution seems to be to restart lightroom and that is not 100% effective.

Can you please confirm your operating system version and Lightroom version? Both can be found in Help menu > System Info

In addition to system info, can you try an attempt HDR merge after importing the HDR set to a new catalog? This will eliminate catalog specific issues, if any.

I don't know how to do that.

If your OS is MACOS  10.14.6, have you installed the supplemental OS update?

This may have done the trick.  Will update if not.

I'm having the same issue. Running LR Classic 8.2 and it was doing it before and after I upgraded OS to 10.14.6.  Does it with any HDR I try to merge. Most of them DJI Raw files. Restart does not help. The rest of Lightroom continues to work, but if I quit the process, and then try to quit LR, it hangs up. I have to do a Force Quit to get out of LR.

Well, oddly, I really am on 8.4.1.  I'm not sure why it showed as 8.2 when I checked right before I posted this. But it did, and I was on the most recent version in CC. After I read your post I relaunched to check it, and it says 8.4.1 now. I swear I'm not a moron, but I don't understand that. I did not update between my first post and now. Maybe a cache issue? Nonetheless, the problem is still there.

Well, I am a moron. I had both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Classic CC installed. Classic CC is version 8.2.

I've uninstalled 8.2 now. Nonetheless, the problem is still there in 8.4.1.

And as you are apparently running MAC OS 10.14.6, have you installed the supplemental update?

I believe the version I have is the supplemental update. Software Update screen says I am up to date.
