Lightroom Classic: Library Filter-special characters assisting with text filtering?

Somewhere I learned that if I want to search using keywords and don't want images with a certain keyword to be filtered/selected, I can put an exclamation mark in front of that keyword. For example, if I want all my birds, except the blue ones, I would enter "  bird, !blue  ".

Are there other special characters that assist in filtering?

From LR Help: "Add an exclamation point (!) before any word to exclude it from the results. Add a plus sign (+) before any word to apply the Starts With rule to that word. Add a plus sign (+) after any word to apply the Ends With rule to that word."

(These days with the very poor search of the online help and no PDF, it's quite difficult to find what you're looking for. I search the LR 6 help for the section heading and then search helpx.adobe.com for that heading with Google.)
