Lightroom Classic: Import hanging following update

Lightroom Classic working fine, then went away for a week.
On return, Windows 10 update to 190318 and Lightroom update to 8.3.1 release both installed.
Then found the Import on Lightroom was constantly hanging.

Have tried reverting to previous Lightroom - no effect.
Created new Lightroom Catalogue - no effect.
Also Windows recovery to previous state ineffective at providing solution.

On selecting import, Lightroom may take 2 minutes or so to change to import screen, which then freezes or may occasionally allow selection of input source, but then freezes.

Could you please let us know from where are you importing?
Are you importing from an SD card?

When I click IMPORT on the Library page, that screen may not change for up to 2 - 3 minutes.

If/when it changes, I still am unable to select source option, it hangs.

I have gone through Win10 verification option which all report OK.

Do you have anything else plugged into your computer, especially Android devices or network devices (like a printer with a card slot or a network storage unit)?

Previous case no ADB-7712833-Z3B1
Amendment to useAutoBahn = false was successful at that time, and resolved the import problem.
However, today the problem has reappeared, and import not possible, either very very slow or complete hang on the import dialogue
