Lightroom Classic: Import fails to see many files

I'm importing files into Lightroom Classic, and LR is failing to see many of the files. (Note that I literally mean "failing to see", because no attempt is made to import them.)

After the initial import, if I do a sync, LR still does not find these files ("Import new photos" shows 0 files to be added).

For example, for one folder containing more than 1000 images, LR imports only 186:

LR Classic unfortunately has turned into one big mess. In any case make sure to "un-tick" the command that LR should not not import duplicate-files. But even that doesn't help. even when importing from an SD-card LR will mix up pictures for import with others that have already been imported, so you will have to carefully go through all the other images on yr card for new ones.

A very simple solution is to erase the files just after they have been imported by LR
But, I must say, I NEVER had such problem (twice importing)

Are the images i one folder or are there images in subfolders?

There are a few subfolders, but most of the images are in the top-level folder.

Check "display the pictures in the subfolder" And try to optimise the catalog

ID10T error. I stupidly assumed that an image management tool would support managing images. I now see that LR does not support most image formats.

Witch formats were importing?

What do you need to import as image format?
I occurs sometime that several "software or camera conceivers" are not respecting all the picture fil description. As for instance it can occur with DNG. Several years ago the DNG produced by the Inspire1 (drone) camera were not readable by several soft.

Lightroom Supports JPEG, PNG, Tiff PSD and various flavors of raw. Any other image file will be ignored.

Rikk Flohr, this is not correct. LR supports basically all major RAW-Files, even though it may take a while for them to be implemented, like Canons CR2 or NEF, or Olympus, Lumix, Pentax etc. Once installed, they will definitely be shown during import.

"JPEG, PNG, Tiff PSD and various flavors of raw"  I am pretty sure I am correct.

Note: I didn't say "some" or "most" or "all" ...

I think there are still some Sigma Merrill raws that are not supported...
