Lightroom Classic: Image edited in Photoshop disappears from Lightroom

I do not use keywords but cannot figure this out. I am losing my previous edited image in LR (after pulling the next one into PS) the entire edit is gone. As an initial troubleshooting step, please copy and paste the first ten lines from the menu command Help > System Info here.

Can you provide full-resolution screenshots of the entire LR window, right before the edited photo dispears from the filmstrip and right after? That could give details of what you're doing and seeing.

Ok so today the edits from PS are reappearing in LR just not in order - i have to go hunt for them.

What sort order is set in the toolbar below the grid? Changing it to capture time should resolve this. If you don't see the toolbar where Sort order is set, type T.

Hi - Yes it is set to capture time - they are either saving totally out of order OR not at all to the original catalog and instead I am finding them in the smart collection! This is only happening since updating to PS 2020.

Another thing it is doing is when i command s to save it is changing the file name to the previous edit and i think that is why they are disappearing or getting out of order...
