Lightroom Classic: I can´t open (and find) my old catalog/library after update!!!
I can´t open (and find) my old catalog/library!!! 200,000 images are gone after I installed the new LR!!
When I click on the old app-symbol NOTHING happens!!! And the new one is EMPTY!!!
I don´t understand how Adobe could have made this so complicated?! Even an ordinary simple amateur photographer should be able to make an update without ALL images disappearing from the program!!!!
I have the pictures on an external hard drive and there they are sorted in the right folders.
I have restarted my iMac but still can not find the pictures!
How can I connect the old LR with the new one so that everything is edited and sorted as before?
(The new LR is called Adobe Photoshop Lightroom verse.4.0.)

This sounds like maybe you used Lightroom Classic (or its predecessor), and now installed Lightroom (desktop), which is a different application. Can you describe exactly what you did to update? Also tell us what OS you use: MacOS or Windows.

I would suggest that your photos have not gone, it’s just the version of Lightroom that is not reading the catalogue.
