Lightroom Classic: How to save originals to the cloud?

Since lightroom classic cc, when you force a synchronization to lightroom cc, only a preview is stored in the cloud.
how to force the storage of originals in the cloud from lightroom classic cc?

That is how Adobe have designed it. LrClassic cannot sync originals to the cloud.

If you want to do it,  import originals into one of the "Lightroom CC" applications. That can be the new "Lightroom CC" for Mac/PC, LR Mobile, or lightroom.adobe.com in your browser.

You can’t. Lightroom Classic was not designed to sync originals to the cloud, only smart previews.

Oh. This explains the entire problem. I wish we were informed of this in a more direct way.

You were. Adobe has never said otherwise and syncing originals to the cloud was only introduced with the new Lightroom. Lightroom Classic was able to sync with Lightroom Mobile for years, but this has always been smart previews only.

Yes, THIS!

I have my fingers crossed that it'll come once the CC Storage API is finalised (https://www.adobe.io/apis/creativeclo...)

Ideally, we'd be able to specify - on a folder-by-folder basis - what should be synced as previews, and what should be synced as originals. Failing that, there's a strong chance that somebody will implement a plugin for this once that API is released. (that somebody might even be me)

In the meantime... You can upload your originals a second time via unclassic lightroom, it'll detect the files as duplicates and replace the preview in the cloud with a full image.

If backup is your main concern though, I'd advise you to stick with previews unless you specifically need to work with originals on a mobile device. A much better deal is to go with Amazon Prime photos, which offers unlimited free storage, even of RAW images.

Adobe has said that Lightroom Classic won’t get any sync updates, so don’t hold your breath while keeping your fingers crossed.
