Lightroom Classic: How do I know if have the most current version?

Do I have the latest version of LR if it says on the top left hand side of the screen 2015cc? Why doesn't it say Lightroom 2018cc?

It documents the current versions of Lightroom.

Hi Jeffery. Thank you for the info. I found it a very interesting read indeed.

Quote from your link.
One trend that we are starting to see is that while the AMD Threadripper 1950X 16 core is definitely faster with the new version of Lightroom Classic CC, the performance gain is not as large as what we are seeing with the Intel CPUs as it is only 44% faster.
But from what i can conclude the i7-8700 is a better choice for LR/PScc because of it's high clock speed. High core lower clock speed isn't utilised fully as yet by LR/PScc yet!

Because there is no such thing as Lightroom CC2018.

Currently there is Lightroom Classic CC (Version 7.2)
Currently there is Lightroom CC (Version 1.2)

Formerly there was Lightroom 1-6.x and Lightroom CC2015.x. Those versions are no longer updated.

If it says CC2015.x the last version is CC2015.14.  Go to Help>System Info... to verify your installed version.

If it says Lightroom CC 2015 you are running the previous version. If you value your sanity you'll stick with it and not upgrade for a while. Lightroom Classic CC (the new version) has been very buggy. If you want to try it make sure that you retain your 2015 version by going to the Advanced options for the upgrade and unchecking the box that says to remove the old version. Then, if the new version gives you problems you can go back to what you have now.
