Lightroom Classic: GPU Acceleration for Lightroom Classic Export Operations

Would it be possible to speed up Lightroom Classic Export operations with GPU acceleration?
It's great to have some GPU support in the develop module, but exporting takes nearly all my CPU resources. Why has this not been done already?

GPU processing is not really the venue for file operations; the GPU is for processing graphics—what you see on the monitors.

The proper solution is for Adobe to make better use of multiple cores of the CPU.

I agree that disk IO is not going to be helped by GPU acceleration, however there should be some benefit to the computational effort required to apply the develop settings to the image before it is written to disk.

I noticed the same issue on Lightroom classic and when doing large book modules the program constantly goes in and out of 'not responding' mode but continues if left alone.  I run a 64 bit with 16GB Ram on Xeon processor but still very slow on saves and synchs.  Tried 8.0 but had to go back to 7.5 to finish my project.  Just too many issues.

Everyone uses Lightroom differently and I guess this speaks to the power and flexibility of the program. Personally, I do not care how long it takes to Import or Export as I start the process and do something else until it is ready.

What I care about is any slowdown or lag while I am reviewing and choosing in Library mode or any slowdowns, lags, or delays while I am editing photos. In both of those parts of the process, I need to be there interacting every moment. If any developer resources are to be spent on speed, it is in these two areas where I would like to see them spent.

Significant progress has already been made in speed in these two areas but there still needs to be more work done to improve develop performance. The speed enhancement in the most recent versions of Library mode are a big improvement. I am hoping for some additional speed improvements in Develop mode in future releases.

I get it. LR is just the start of my workflow. I do a lot more with the exported images and the time it takes to export is a bottleneck. Also my computer is not usable for much else while the export is in progress.
