Lightroom Classic: Filter images by colour label has disappeared

Not sure if I'm missing something or whether there's a bug related to ability to filter images by colour label. Filtering by Stars and Flags still appears, but not colour labels. I finally discovered that the pull-down menu Library > Filter By Color Label > pick any colour will cause colour labels filter to appear, but this is a long way around to get an option that is usually present on the filter bar at the bottom. LR Classic v8.2 for Mac, IOS v10.14.2

I have seen a couple post on this issue in the past

First click on the word Filter to close the filters and the click on the word Filter to open the panel and see if you corrects the problem.

if that didn't work Restart Lr and Computer

If that didn't work reset preferences.

Thanks Robert. Tried all of the above many times over last few weeks before finally posting query. Alas it doesn’t resolve it.

Hi Ziggy,

Can you post a screenshot/video to show where the color label filter is missing?

Sorry for delay - couldn't remember which forum I'd been on! 3 weeks later it's still an issue. Screen grab below shows stars missing too, but they come back on request; problem only affects Colour Labels. I found a workaround: Library > File > Library Filters > Filter by Colour Label will make it open temporarily. Once showing, making a preset on the Filters bar makes it faster to get it back, so since yesterday I just keep loading my preset every time it vanishes, but it's an annoyance I could live without !

Ziggy, it wasn't clear from your previous posts: Have you tried resetting LR's preferences, following the steps here: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/. That often fixes things when LR's user interface starts acting up.
