Lightroom Classic: Default Zoom Level on Retina Displays

I'm using a 27" iMac with a 5K Retina display, and Lightroom's default "zoom in" level of 1:1 doesn't really help me to accurately judge whether a photo is really sharp and in focus. On conventional (ie. not Hi-DPI) displays this isn't a problem, but on Retina/Hi-DPI displays, I need to switch to a 2:1 zoom level to accurately judge focus and sharpness.

Unfortunately, this selection is not preserved through sessions. When I restart Lightroom, it's back to 1:1, and I have to adjust it again.

I'd like to suggest that Lightroom remembers the user's "zoom in" level between sessions so that it's not necessary to manually switch to 2:1 on Retina displays.

Alternatively, making the 1:1 zoom de-facto a 2:1 zoom on Retina/Hi-DPI displays (like Topaz Labs does) would also help.

Thanks for the consideration.
Alexander.

Update: the new zoom controls in LR 10 make me wish even MORE that I could set the default zoom level to 200%, permanent and across sessions.

Getting to 200% used to be ONE additional click on the zoom slider - now that clicks sets my zoom level to... whatever it is that's supposed to be at that slider position. Like, 673%, or 366%. Ugh. That's useless.

Set 200% from the pop-up and then click Fit. Further clicks will toggle between 200% and Fit.

I'm not seeing any pop-up.

EDIT: you mean the zoom controls in the Navigator panel, okay. I'm not using those, and never have the Navigator panel open.

I always click on the zoom slider in the Library or Develop toolbar. I was hoping there'd be a right-click option with those presets there, but alas...

Oh, hang on. The Navigator title bar shows the zoom controls even when it's collapsed now. Okay, that's... tolerable. :)

My original request/idea that the zoom level be preserved over sessions, or default to 2:1 on Retina displays, remains.

You can use the CTRL/CMD and + - keys, which will give you the previous Zoom settings. It's still not sticky, but it's one keystroke from 100% to 200%

@todd_shaner_6660895 thanks Todd. I know these keyboard shortcuts (for the sake of precision, it's CMD and = for me).

It's just a little thing. It's about flow. It wasn't necessary to switch from mouse to keyboard, and back. It was one click.

[before someone thought that 371% or whatever is a really useful zoom level that people would want to use when they click on that slider. {rolls eyes}]

I did not see this in the change log, but just noticed that LrC version 10.1 does remember the zoom level across sessions now - a pleasant surprise, and most welcome addition. Thanks!
