Lightroom Classic: Crop tool and develop module image switching not working with gpu acceleration (MSI Afterburner issue)

I'm a working professional using most up to date drivers, lightroom classic version etc. So basically the bug or problem is when I use the crop tool the picture display just goes to grey like there's nothing there. Also, when I go between images in the develop module the film reel down the bottom changes to the next image but the larger image doesn't change to it and remains on the previous image. Going between images in library module does work. This photo switching issue doesn't happen every time but the cropping issue does. This issue can be temporarily solved for like 2 minutes by restarting windows, then it begins again. It also does not happen if I turn off gpu acceleration. But this is NOT an option. Lightroom runs too slow to be usable otherwise. My graphics card is a Nvidia 1660 Ti.32gb ddr4 ramIntel i7 6700

If this doesn’t happen when you switch off GPU acceleration, then it is an issue with the GPU driver. Make sure you are using the latest version.

Follow Solution #4 and do a clean install of Nvidia driver https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html

Thank you for the replies guys. It turns out the issue was the MSI Afterburner software and the screen overlay frame rate measuring tool that comes with MSI graphics cards. Uninstalling these programs fixed the issue completely. I hadn't actually overclocked my card so that definitely was not the cause, I think it had something to do with the on screen display for measuring framerate and core temperatures etc. I believe it mistook lightroom for a video game and overlayed itself on top of it and that caused the problems somehow.
I would like to be able to have this program in the future however, because I do use it. so if anyone has a fix that'll allow me to run afterburner and still use lightroom that would be awesome.
