Lightroom Classic: Copy images to the clipboard (or create a screenshot of an image)

Time is precious. Wouldn ́t it be very cool to be able to:- create quick-and easy screenshots in lightroom or- copy a single image to the clipboard?Adding such functionality (e.g. as a button and/or right-click option) would greatly speed up extracting images from lightroom.I know, it ́s not the way it ́s "meant to be done", but it simply would be cool.Adobe already has included a "send by email" option - and so a "send to clipboard" option would be great, too.

Consider separating these ideas. (or are they intimately related?).

What would you be pasting clipboarded images onto? In Lightroom only, or outside?

If the latter (outside), consider FolderFigure's feature to open explorer window(s) with multiple photos selected, which you can then copy to clipboard via ctrl-c. (Windows only).

(note: if only one image, you don't need FolderFigure)

If the former (inside Lightroom), then '+1 vote'.

Dear Rob,

Thanks for this suggestion - but I was rather thinking of quickly copying and pasting a (preview) image e.g. from Lightroom to MS Word, Powerpoint or other applications.

This is simply because I have all my images in RAW format, but don ́t want to go through the hassle of always having to export them one-by-one to another specified folder.

But copying inside LR would certainly also be a good idea!

Thanks for your suggestion!

Best wishes,
Chris

Got it, and "I like" (2nd vote above is from me). I have PreviewExporter for rapid export of previews, but being able to copy/paste from the preview cache would be much more convenient in many circumstances.

Consider also Jeffrey Friedl's Preview Extractor:

http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-good...

It's like PreviewExporter, except instead of being implemented as an export filter (alias: post-process action), it's invoked via menu.

I know it's not copy/paste//screenshot, but may be next best thing.

Also, TreeSyncPublisher or the like (jf's FolderPublisher, or Tim Armes TreeExporter) can help to keep tree of rgb images at the ready for rapid access, obviating the need for repeated exporting (and waiting) when it comes time to "consume" images outside Lightroom.

PS - Reminder: although Lightroom is billed as a "one-stop-shop" for raw conversion, slide-shows, ..., IMO it falls short, and I keep a half dozen other apps open all the time which I use in conjunction with Lightroom, to fill in the gaps (in addition to a multitude of plugins).

Lightroom is great for organizing photos. For face editing I use Reallusion Face Filter 3, and for slide shows Powerpoint because Lightroom is too limited for slideshows, and Photoshop for major editing. Is there a user friendly feature that I can use to send a copy of a picture from Lightroom to programs besides Photoshop and continue to have Lightroom manage those files if so desired? If not -- Adobe Development team -- are you listening?

Hello,
I am also dreaming of such a functionnality: a right click on the thumbnail and LR renders the image according some fixed parameters (jpeg, 2000px max, sRGB, 80% qual) or some preset values in the preferences, and copy it to the clipboard, then erase all eventual temporary files created during the operation.
No need to justify for wich application I need that.
But I need it.

This debate and discussion is kind of superfluous. Share to clipboard exists on the iphone and it works great! Just bring the feature from the phone to the desktop. The desktop is supposed to do all the mobile stuff and MORE right?

Just to clarify, on the iPhone, that's an iOS feature rather than something Adobe built. This request has only had 7 votes in 6 years, so you might be waiting a while.

To further clarify: share contracts/sheets and the clipboard are OS features provided by both iOS and MacOS. Adobe hooked it up in iOS but not on MacOS. The ask is for them to hook up share support on the Mac.

I'm actually working on a plugin for this. I have a working version for Windows and am looking for OSX solutions. I plan to make it publically available soon, but if someone wants to try it out before, let me know. :)

I also have a working OSX solution now and am still looking for testers, if someone is interested.

I am interested in the Windows version. Do you have a website to try it / download it? I wasn't able to find anything on the web.

Oliver: lots of demand for a means to copy to clipboard directly and quickly from clipboard. I know of photographers snapping pics on their iPhone, just to share quick previews. "Coming soon?"

I can provide you with the preview version. There is currently only one minor issue on OSX, that doesn't affect functionality. It works pretty well. You can send me an email and I'll provide you with a link. My address is my name @gmail.com
