Lightroom Classic: Change the appearance of the selected/deselected thumbs in the import window
Currently it is virtually impossible to use the import window to select specific images for import because when first deselecting all images, the thumbs are too dark to be judged which ones you want to import. Sure you can use the large view and scroll through all images one by one, but wouldn't it be better to remove the dark vignetting thumbs and just give the selected thumbs a solid green border or something? Then you have a clear view of all unselected thumbs and then ctrl-click through them to make a selection for import. Personally I never want/need to import a complete folder when I know I only want to edit a few.

Also the thumbs can be made larger AND they are only Vignetted when Not Selected as the active image. And of course you can use the Loupe View and the X key to deselect or the P key to select.
I believe it is your workflow that is causing most of the problems.

It might be useful sometimes. When you have a lot of photo not already in the catalog and you want to import only 2 of them, it's faster to deselect all, then select the 2 you need to import.
Both options "Select all but some" and "Select none but some" are useful.
